In a significant move to enhance safety on Nigeria’s inland waterways, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, has inaugurated a Special Committee on the Prevention of Boat Mishaps in Nigeria. The event, which was held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Abuja, marks a crucial step in addressing the recurring challenges of boat accidents across the country.

As part of efforts to enhance safety on Nigeria’s waterways, General Managers and Area Managers of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) have signed a performance bond with the Managing Director, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, FCIB reinforcing a strict commitment to eradicating boat mishaps. This initiative highlights NIWA’s resolve to enforce safety regulations and improve operational efficiency across the nation’s inland waterways.
