Installation of Baro River Port Cargo Handling Equipment Completed

The Baro river port Cargo handling equipment installation has been completed and this is official.

The MD/CEO of NIWA, Senator (Dr.) Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora confirmed this yesterday on the 22nd of December when he visited the Baro River Port to ascertain the level of work done. He was impressed by what he saw and the contractors are fixing the last equipment and assured the M/D that it will be ready in one week.

The M/D commended the contractors for a job well done and also the community for being a good host and encouraged them to ensure the safety and security of the River Port.

The M/D said the equipment at the Baro Port are first class and will bring glory not only to the Community and the state but the entire nation.

It will be recalled that the M/D directed National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) engineers to rehabilitate the access road to Baro Port to enable the contractors move their equipment to site and that has been achieved.

Baro River Port which is the flagship port in the North will be commissioned in no distant future by Mr. President, General Mohammadu Buhari.
